The West Michigan Brass Band exists to demonstrate the highest level of British style Brass Band performance known to advanced level amateur brass players and to provide a challenging and competitive venue for their continued improvement in both personal and ensemble performance.
The band is presently made up of volunteers, some with performance majors, and others with a life long history of Brass Banding through The Salvation Army.
From that tradition comes the founder and present conductor of the Band, John Aren who received certification from the National Bandmasters School in London in 1981. He is the founder of the Motor City Brass Band, and served as the consultant to the Northern Michigan Brass Band.
WMBB will soon be established as a 501-C3 and eligible to receive your tax-deductable support.
